Okay, can we talk about Hillary Whitney for a second? Actually, Mindy and I already did, but feel free to participate.

Mindy:  The thing about “Wind Beneath My Wings” is that whole “you were content to let me shine” part is totally not true. Barbara Hershey’s character was SO RESENTFUL.
Me:  She was THE WORST.
Mindy:  She banged her friend’s crush!
Me:  So spiteful and petty.
Mindy:  And then was so satisfied when he still was attracted to her after he married Bette Midler. Just so smug about it.
Me:  And JUDGY about the Otto Titsling musical! THAT LOOKED FUN!
Mindy:  Yet she LOVED “Oh, Industry.”
Me:  Of fucking course she did.
Mindy:  “The Hannah Arendt of song!”
Me:  Ugh. Hillary Whitney: Worst. Go die of Unspecified Illness in an Adirondack chair already.
